Children

Foreign children up to the age of 8 enter free, and a €40 price applies for the 8 to 18 age group. A child who is exactly 8 may be asked to pay, so ask at the ticket office if your child has just reached that age. Turkish citizens have their own tariffs. Do not count on a student or senior discount as a foreign visitor.

Opening hours from October 2026 to April 2027

Winter hours. The sites close at different times.

Ephesus and the museum in Selçuk are open every day. The longer opening hours of the site do not apply to the Terrace Houses, which close earlier. Around the change of season in early October or April, ask at the ticket office or check the current notice before you go.

Evening visits

The evening programme is not a year-round offer. In 2026 it ran from 1 June to 1 October, with Ephesus open until 23:00 from Wednesday to Saturday and entry from 19:00. Museum passes do not cover evening visits.

Museum passes

Worth it only if you plan several museums.

PassPriceValidRegion
MuseumPass The Aegean€957 days from first entryİzmir, Aydın, Muğla and Denizli
MuseumPass Türkiye€16515 days from first entryAll of Türkiye

Each pass allows one entry per museum or site. Ephesus, the museum in Selçuk and the Ayasuluk and St. John site are on the Aegean pass list. For the Terrace Houses, pass holders may pay a reduced extra fee of TRY 200, depending on the pass. Ask at the ticket office before you queue.

Adding up the single tickets for Ephesus, the museum and St. John gives €56, below the price of the Aegean pass. A pass makes sense only if you add many more sites, for example around Pamukkale and Hierapolis in the Denizli region. For a day at Ephesus, single tickets are the cheaper route.

Getting more out of your ticket

Pick a gate

Most visitors enter at the upper gate and walk downhill. The lower gate has the dolmuş stop. The two gates are far apart, so decide before you buy.
